Equipment

  • Rolling pin (for shaping the pizza dough)
  • Mixing bowls (small and medium)
  • Spoon or spatula (for spreading the sauce)
  • Chef’s knife or mandoline (for slicing pickles if not pre-sliced)
  • Pizza stone or baking sheet (for baking the pizza)
  • Parchment paper (to prevent sticking and ease transfer)
  • Pastry brush (for brushing olive oil on the crust)
  • Oven mitts (for safety when handling hot stone or tray)
  • Pizza cutter or sharp knife (for slicing the pizza)
  • Cooling rack (optional, to prevent soggy crust post-bake)

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough or homemade, 12-inch size
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup dill pickle slices thinly sliced, patted dry
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for brushing crust
  • Optional: red pepper flakes extra dill for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  • Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to a 12-inch round. Transfer it to a piece of parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix together the sour cream, cream cheese, garlic powder, dried dill, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese evenly over the sauce.
  • Layer the pickle slices on top of the cheese in a single layer.
  • Brush the outer crust with olive oil for a golden finish.
  • Carefully transfer the pizza (with the parchment) onto the hot pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown.
  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with red pepper flakes or extra dill if desired. Slice and serve!

Notes

  1. Patting the pickles dry prevents sogginess and keeps the crust crisp.
  2. Try it with a drizzle of hot honey or ranch for extra flair.
  3. Great for pickle lovers and adventurous eaters—don't knock it 'til you try it!
